The Walk
Notices from the 15th of September 20
We had 16 members attending as well as Rotaractors Alisha, Josh and Matt.
President Kaye welcomed everyone and we enjoyed an upmarket fish and chips meal.

Alisha
  • Rotaract is holding a Quiz Night on Saturday 24 October which is World Polio Day.
    • 6.00 for 6.30, tables of 6, $80 per table entry.  It will be held at the Lesmurdie Club.
    • Matt is the quizmaster and there will 7 rounds of questions.
    • BYO nibblies, with drinks being purchased at the bar.
    • We would like Rotary to support the event – if Rotarians are unable to attend, a donation would be most welcome.
Matt gave us some fun questions as a foretaste.  It should be a great night.

Paul
Paul has put the revised by-laws to a group of experienced Rotary members.  They will be put to all club members in the near future.

Krys
Our Rotary Exchange student Ciedele is going well.  Currently there are 10 overseas with most returning in mid-January.  The program will be re-commencing with inbound students coming in  July 2021 and outbound students leaving in January 2022.

Dee
The Crawley Club is looking at projects and has come up with Sky Blue which visits remote communities.  Dee flew to Kalgoorlie with them recently, and the trip was great.  This 1st trip put $50,000 into the Kalgoorlie community.  A brochure was passed around.  Contact Dee if you want more information on this.

Bill
There is a new lock on the Rotary shed at the shire.  Bill has the new keys.

Kaye – the Walk
  • There will be parking at Kaye’s if you are going to be there all day.
  • There is also some parking along Stanhope and Gladstone Rds.
  • Bring your own chair, hat, rain gear, water and snacks.
  • Kaye’s address is 85 Gladstone Road, Walliston.
  • The Historical Society will be there.
  • Funds raised will go toward My Home – affordable housing for those in need.

Meetings
  • There will be no meeting next week, 22 September.
  • The following week’s meeting will have us looking at what the club’s next major project should be.

Markets
The last market went very well. People who can’t travel seem to be coming to the markets and spending up.

Jonathan
We are having Hat Day at the October market.  Rotaract will be helping.

Rotaract
The club agreed to contribute $280 to the Rotaract fundraising activity Live Below the Line.  They will be playing a game of tennis and inviting other Rotaract club’s along and then serving a meal which only costs $2 per person.  The link for more information is:

Paul
This week’s question was “What is a Rotary Centurion?”  Answer – someone who donates $100 a year to Foundation.  There is a link in the last Bulletin for members to be part of this.
